THE CONGRESS
The 16th Annual Congress of Financial Markets Operators is jointly organised by AIAF – The Italian Association of Financial Analysts, ASSIOM – The Italian Association of Capital Markets Operators and ATIC FOREX – The Financial Markets Association of Italy.
At the 16th Congress in Naples ASSIOM and ATIC FOREX will merge into the new ASSIOM FOREX association of market professionals, which will become the world's largest (along with the equivalent German association) by numbers of its members.
The Congress, whose first edition dates back to 1994, has always been actively supported by Banca d’Italia and is one of the most important annual occasions for market operators to meet and exchange views on industry trends. Every year the Governor of the Bank of Italy delivers his first official speech, addressing the Italian community of financial market operators on issues like new market development and monetary policy at national, European and International level.
Workshops on economic or financial themes are also organised on Friday and Saturday afternoon. In the last few years these workshops focused on ongoing economic developments and on main structural trends, as well as on specific issues related to the host region.
THE ATTENDANCE
On account of the importance of the event, not only the members of the three Associations but also the representatives of the financial institutions, the bankers at the top of the main credit groups and the local authorities attend the congress. In these last years the attendance varied from 1500 to 2500 participants.
THE PRESS
The congress is followed by all the daily and weekly press and the state and private TV with prominent special reports.
